As an External Transport Manager, you can work with a maximum of 4 operators and a maximum of 50 vehicles, which gives you a variety of work and clients.
Understand brake test reports, investigate MOT failures and roadside prohibitions, drivers hours tachograph analysis, and undertake regular training to keep up to date with changes in legislation and compliance.

Training
As External Transport Manager , you must hold External Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and External Transport Manager CPC is a level 3 qualification. There are several companies where you can take the training either online or in person / classroom based as well as a couple of examining boards including CILT (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport). There is a separate exam for PSV and another for Road Haulage and the exams comprise of a case study and multiple choice. You must pass both exams to qualify.
